HSBC 'preference capture' message

Can anyone help me with this please? When I logon to HSBC, I get the message -
"Preference capture. we are unable to deal with your request. please try later. click here to continue to your accounts"
I continue, and it's all OK. I rang their help desk and didn't get an answer, just checked I wasn't using an internet cafe. I get it on different PCs and browsers. No money stolen yet!

Would just like to also say that I too have noticed this 'preference capture' page after logging in and prior to being directed to my accounts section.

I thought I'd found the answer to this - I have 'flash cookies' (LSOs) switched off on my PC & mac, so I thought that might be the reason (the Tesco savings account logon uses flash cookies to identify the PC). So I've just tried it on something with flash cookies enabled, and I get the same message.

I got through to HSBC internet techies on the phone today. Apparently this is legit, nothing to worry about.

thanks for that. I still think it's badly phrased - saying "we're unable to deal with YOUR request" when I haven't requested anything!
