If they contact you I would ask them just to get on with the court action as quickly as possible, it will be thrown out on its ear.

Info on complaining here:

Be aware that the OFT don't take action on individual cases, but yours will be added to any case file they are compiling on misbehaviour by Freds. Which must be quite think by now.
More important is maybe taking it to the FOS, as they can act on debt collection complaints.

As said, would cost Freds £500 if you complained.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

I have just re-read what they sent me. It has printed in the corner of the document 'PLEASE DETACH THIS COPY AS INDICATED AND RETURN IT TO US SIGNED AND COMPLETED' well if it was signed and completed where is it?
Also this account was taken out in March 2006.
They are completely stuffed, and they know it then.
Hence their line of bullwarks in response to your complaint.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

EDIT - Sorry Didn't see posts above!0

I know the right thing to do is ignore them as they can not prove it is my debt but in the back of my mind I just want to pay the stupid thing. If that's what it takes for me to move on then I am willing to do it.
I am just sick and tired of this dragging on. It is 18 months now of them chasing me and I just want to give up.
The debt is for around £1000 which I know is a lot but my dad has said he is willing to help me and pay half of it but would rather wait and see what happens. It is my name on this debt and it is annoying me so much.0 -
Dont pay them a single penny....this will be an admission of liability.
The DCA's are a pain in the backside and, unfortunately, debts which are clearly Unenforceable through lack of Agreements ( or those Agreements being incorrect or incomplete in some way ) will continue to be sold on to ever-increasingly dodgy Collection Agencies .... and Frederickson is pretty far down the list of dodgy characters.....until the debt becomes Statute Barred at 6 years from the last payment or admission of Liability.
Some will keep trying even then!
Without the correct Agreement this will never go to Court...and ALWAYS check your Credit Files periodically as it is not unknown for the DCA scum to make entries. This would be Defamation and is punishable by Law....but they will constantly threaten you wioth letters peppered with 'if's' and 'could's' and 'maybe's' in the hope that you may part with something out of fear or frustration.
Send Fredericksons a CCA Request along with the £1 Postal Order, send it Recorded and DONT SIGN IT. This stops them in their tracks.
..and if they phone you or threaten a visit, we can stop that too. Don't worry, until you get a properly executed Agreement you can ignore EVERYTHING they send you.
And, no, I don't like DCA's thats why I've got so much UNENFORCEABLE debt and have won Compensation from them several times.
Get any other problems with them, feel happy to PM me.
:D stay wonky
:D

Thanks for the reply. I have PM'd you.
I have been thinking about something. I read black marks can not be taken off your credit rating by just paying the debt?
I orginally wanted to pay it as I didn't want to wait 4 more years before it became SB and I didn't want a bad credit rating.
I applied for a loan for a new car last month and was refused for the first time ever. I currently have 1k left to pay off on my current loan could this be the reason why? Or do you think I have a bad credit rating? I first thought it was because I had a current loan already, but now I'm not so sure. They could not tell me why I was refused either. I am asking as I do not have an account on a credit rating site at the minute.and ALWAYS check your Credit Files periodically as it is not unknown for the DCA scum to make entries. This would be Defamation and is punishable by Law....but they will constantly threaten you wioth letters peppered with 'if's' and 'could's' and 'maybe's' in the hope that you may part with something out of fear or frustration
To summarise I could have a bad rating for debts that aren't mine and is runing my life? How will I get these removed if paying them doesn't? Do I write to them to provide me with proof it is my debt or to remove my bad rating or I will report them?0 -
Well I have come home to yet another letter. That is my night ruined!0

I have created a credit report site and they have put a default on my account. How do I take this off?
I feel like I am going round and round in circles but I am just getting so angry. Defaults stay on your credit for 6 years? Anyway to get this removed?
Also I have read they must notify me they are gong to default my account? I did not receive this either.0 -
Sling their bloody letters in the bin, why do you let it get you down or why should you even consider giving money to these leeching parasites? I had a couple of letters from this bunch of shysters (I 've had letters from just about everyone, lol) and I simply gave it the standard treatment of IGNORE.
They went. Never heard from them again.
Never, ever reply to a debt collector. Contacting them is the worst thing you can do, as they are cowardly bullies who are only interested in extorting money from you.
They have NO CHANCE of taking anyone to court on this, IGNORE them and leave them talking to themselves they will soon tire of it.0
