what can i do with cornish wafers that no one will eat?

hi, i've been a regular visitor to the site for some time, but have only just got round to joining the forum.

i need to see if any of you can help, i've got a growing stack of cornish wafers that no one in our house will eat. I have been buying selection boxes of crackers when they are on offer to save money, but they always seem to have this one particular variety that none of us like!

it seems such a waste to just throw them away.

any suggestions for using them in recipes gratefully received!

otherwise i think we will be feeding them to the birds who visit the garden.

Put them all into a tin and don't buy any more crackers until they are all eaten.
Amazing what my lot will eat when there's nothing else on offer. :D

Alternatively crush them with a rolling pin and throw them on the bird table.
Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.

Together we can make a difference.
  • Depends on how adventurous your lot are but I make them into custard slices and they go down a treat. You just make up some nice thick custard and allow to go cold. Then spread a cornish wafer with some nice jam and top with a good thick blob of custard. Top with a second cornish wafer and ice with water icing. Leave for a good hour or two before eating and they are really lovely!
