Superdrug pricing policy

Does anyone know if Superdrug have different prices depending on the store location?
On a few occasions I've seen items in smaller branches that were more expensive in the town centre 'mega' shops. The latest examples were John Frieda foam hair colour at £6.99 in Billericay, but £9.99 in Chelmsford, and Clairol hair colour £4.99 in Maldon but £5.99 in Chelmsford.
Has anyone else come across this??

Usually pricing is based on location, so if a store is in close proximity to any competition then the prices are generally a bit lower0

That's the oddity of it. The small towns have the lower prices, whilst Chelmsford (with nearby competitors Boots, Body Shop, Wilkinsons, and Fragrance Parlour) has the higher prices.0

Are things priced higher in what are perceived as more affluent areas?0

I know the areas you are talking about.
In Maldon, Superdrug and Boots are next door to each other, so in direct competition.
In Chelmsford, whilst there are many outlets for health and beauty products, they are spread out (a little bit anyway) so perhaps are hoping laziness wins out and people won't bother to go in every store to compare prices0
