Earnings fail to keep up with inflation

Inflation in 1975 was 25%.
If you think it's bad now check the Bank of England's site.
If the OP is trying to make a political point then this is an own goal. Labour were in power from 1974-1979.
A weekly shopping bill costing £25 in 1970 leapt to almost £115 by 19830 -
All the figures are fudged. Do not beleive the CPLie.
John Williams shadow stats gives the truth for the USA because no one in their right mind listens to the government numbers anymore.
We need a truth website for the UK, I wonder what real inflation is running at?0 -

Nice to be informed that I'm apparently an agency worker, working for the NHS though. Thanks for letting me know! This agency I apparently work for must owe me quite a considerable sum of money!
Anything else you want to let me know after making it up?
So are you saying you don't work for the NHS and all that stuff about how disgraceful it is that you spend all your time on this forum when you should be doing whatever it is that we pay you for is all wrong?
Or are you just saying that you're not an agency worker and that you're hoping this is enough of an error to distract everyone from the NHS thing?0 -
I'm saying both are errors, and my advice would be stop being so darn desperate, making things up and then attacking based upon your own made up assumptions.RenovationMan wrote: »So are you saying you don't work for the NHS and all that stuff about how disgraceful it is that you spend all your time on this forum when you should be doing whatever it is that we pay you for is all wrong?

I work within the NHS. I don't work for it. I don't get paid by the NHS. I'm not an agency worker. I am however, aligned to some NHS regulations etc.
If someone said they provided interactive white boards to schools, would you call them a teacher?
It'd be great if you stopped making so much up so that people have to keep justifying themselves to you.0 -

I work for the NHS as much as an interactive whiteboard installer is a school worker.
Hmnn, that's as clear as mud, no wonder people get confused. So let me see if I have this straight:
1. You don't work for the NHS.
2. You do work in the NHS.
Yes, that's clear. Let's see if I have the rest.
1. You don't get paid by the NHS.
2. You don't get paid by an agency.
Yes, Crystal clear. :rotfl:
Interestingly, the person who installs the white boards gets paid for doing so by the company he works for. The company he works for gets paid by the school. Effectively the whiteboard person is being paid by the school. QED. If the installer untruthfully tells his company that he has installed whiteboards (when he has actually been foruming all day), then his company still invoices the school and the school is still paying for stuff it's not receiving. Ergo, the school and the taxpayer is being defrauded.
This logic works for the NHS too.0 -

Apology accepted.
If you have a point, make it. If you have to attack constantly, attack on something that's been said on the forum, instead of making things up purely to attack based on your own creations.0 -

For 80% of my working time I'm self employed, on call.
You missed the bit at the bottom of the my post about you defrauding the NHS. I don't apologise for being outraged at having to pay for the likes of you who does f'k all all day and the taxpayer picks up the bill.0 -
