P45 or Statement of Earnings..Help!!!

I need to obtain either a P45 or Statement of earnings for 2006. Long time ago and that little piece of paper has gone missing. I have called various numbers but they are not very good at getting it right so have been bounced around quite a bit.

Is there one number for this I can call to get the paperwork sent out to me or even an email address or something. Im due some tax back and cant get it till I get this sorted.

Who are 'they'? Your employer at the time?

Otherwise you'll need to submit the claim without documents. With employment details HMRC should be able to trace it

Ahh I forgot to say. I was signing on for a few months in 2006. I think this is what I need the P45 or statement of earnings for. Everything else is covered. would HMRC have this on file or the job centre?
