Oh good - the mods have removed his post - that is not the name he used for himself, I wanted to make sure he didn't get any referrals.0 -

Talk about making it way too simplistic. Mortgages into retirement are allowed. No rule breach. The requirement is to ensure that on advice cases that the person is aware it is going into retirement and make sure they are aware they need to be able to repay it in retirement. That typically involves a simple risk warning on the report.
They should rename claims companies as complaint generators as they generate a complaint first rather than investigate and tell you if you were mis-sold or not.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -

you have no idea. dont think think its a bit immoral just making stuff up to make a few quid?0 -
I didn't make anything up. I simply said that it could have possibly been mis sold.. I didn't say it definitely was. My company doesn't just take on any old claim. We would only take a case on if we know it has been mis sold after doing a full audit on the mortgage. We dont charge up front fees, so we are not 'Ambulance chasers'. We just help our clients claim back what they deserve0

I can see why you are getting a bit nervous!0 -

Why would magpiecottage be getting nervous? He gets paid by IFAs to deal with complaints. The more complaints that come in, the more he is paid. Without complaints, his business would not exist.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. About 10 years ago a complaint was made against me that I had missold a mortgage that ran into retirement. I could not remember the case but my defence was based on the likelihood of me doing so by mistake and nobody spotting it.
It worked out to a frequency of one case every 141 years. It was decided that this could be that one case but, on the balance of probability, it wasn't.0 -
Not intending any disrespect to Mortgage Advisers but MCOB, the rules relating to them, are far easier to comply with than COBS, the IFA rules.I run a consultancy to help Independent Financial Advisers to comply with their rules and resolve complaints.

And as it happens I am also qualified to give advice on mortgages - including those which run into retirement. Are you?
You see misselling where it has not happened and are obviously delusional so perceiving me as nervous when I am not is hardly surprising.I can see why you are getting a bit nervous!0 -
Just realised this post looks like I resurrected it for no apparent reason yesterday.
In fact I simply responded to a spam post by Scumbagambulancechaser, aka Ashmen who came here inviting the OP to pm him.
That post has rightly been deleted by the mods.0
