Lady Leenie, I found this on a website today (did a wedding today and was so inspired by the beautiful flowers that I decided to look online for some ideas when I got home). It reminded me of your tea cup candles.

This is a dainty little arrangement, made in a cup and saucer. When making such an arrangement, the size and colouring of the cup and saucer used must be taken into account, and small flowers which echo the colouring must be chosen. For this design, I have used a small piece of floral foam, which fits neatly into the cup, and is around 1" taller than the rim of the cup. I have chosen a posy-style design, which is suited to the shape of the cup and saucer. Small foliage was selected, and this was Buxus sempervirens (Box), Hedera helix (Ivy), and Tiarella 'Iron Butterfly', a lovely foliage which is a bright green, with a purple blotch in the centre. Flowers used were in pink colours, to match the pink design on the cup and saucer, and these were small Roses which were the focal flowers, with Tiarella 'Iron Butterfly' - a lovely flower in season in spring, with spikes of small starry palest pink flowers, Chamelaucium uncinatum (Waxflower), Gypsophila 'Million Stars', and green berries of Hypericum.

It's by a lady called Chrissie Harten and her website is here - http://www.thegardener.btinternet.co.uk

There are some nice general ideas on there and helpful tips as to how to do them. A propos, have you informed your catering consultant, Miss Laid, about the change of date? :rotfl:

I have been round the poundshops sourcing lovely quality items :T:rotfl:

    Iron? what's that?

I've got two duvet covers, 3 or 4 sheets and 2 if not 3 sets of pillow cases.

Aha, no excuse then, you don't even need to get them washed and dried the same day because you've got another one:pTheir is nothing nicer than getting into a nice clean bed, and while we're at it you need 4 pillows on that bed;)two on each side.Don't start me on beds, you know what I'm like:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Fair play, very delicately said!

It might only take five minutes to bung them in the machine but it's the cost of washing them!!

It's also a sod so put the duvet cover back on alone.

    John Lewis Normandie Super Kingsize?

Is this a euphemism I don't understand? Oh, a quick google and I see what you mean.

No, we don't have John Lewis on my neck of the woods, but it does look startlingly similar. Does the bedside cabinet have a secret compartment that slides out?
    Hope is not a strategy.

Well, to save electricity, you could:

    A. Put them on a quick wash.
    B. Make sure you have a full load of "darks" when you wash them
    C. Take them to your mother's/sister's and bung them in their machine when they are not looking
    D. Take them to the river and bash them about on the rocks

    :D I can see it's a good quality bed :T

I have a very posh Laura Ashley Cheltenham metal bed with brass knobs on it ;)
    (£15 in staff sale)

That's what I bought a few months back, the cream single metal LA bed for my spare room with balls on, got a good deal but not quite as good as you;):p
