RPI falls to 3.9%

Retail Prices Index (RPI) inflation - including mortgage interest payments - fell to 3.9% from 4.8%.

What a staggering drop - in just 1 month!

CPI down, also .... but Hamish has reported on that.

REJOICE - this is just the start 2012 needed to fire off what will be a brilliant year for the winners amongst us!!

We'll get the usual negative losers posting their doom and gloom - but we shall shine through their dismal attitudes ..... ON AND UPWARDS!!

If nothing else your unremitting positivity is refreshing.
  • Um - still double wage rises though (and many get no rises) so were still all getting poorer.

    Oh well.

I'm going to bottle it and give it away.

There are some on here who really need something to cheer them up - they are so miserable, I can only shudder at how sad their little lives must be :(

That's a sweeping statement which certainly does not apply to everyone.

In my business we cannot get people to join us, just not the skills out there .... so, we pay big increases year on year just to keep what we have. It's desperate.

What skills are you looking for?
    Sitting around spamming internet forums?
You do have a certain skill in that area, but I'm sure you're not the only one.

Nuclear Physics .... and Nuclear Engineering and Science .... if you can fulfil these duties please get in touch with me.

The starting pay is low, I'm afraid, at around £50k - but it soon grows into something worth talking about.

  • Granted - BUT for more than 50% of the population - and therfore the majority (and why my statement is valid), wage raises are below 2% if anything at all.

Ill be looking for a new job soon - well 12-18 months, so hope i find a company like yours.
  • Had to laugh Mr Ree. thats a very specialised area - no wonder you struggle to find new people.

id love to work in that area, but unfortuntely my lowly electrionics background isnt going to cut it.

I could do that, and happy to come in on a 12 month trial contract. When can I start?

I suppose BoE should be pleased with themselves at only being around 100% over target. Bonuses all round.
