Hi, I was planing on making some liver for lunch. I have just taken it out of the fridge and noticed that it is PIG not LAMB doh.
Does anyone have a recipe that will take around an hour to cook please?
I have lots of ingredients and some red wine if needed.
I have looked on the forum and other places but am stuggling to find anything that lists weights or measurements.
Thanks a lot

If you cook liver for an hour you might find that you might as well chew the sole of your boot, it literally only takes minutes to cook liver,
just do it the same as lambs liver.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Oh right, I thought that pigs liver needed longer than lambs.Smart price rocks!0

Pigs Liver is best flash fried. Dip in seasoned flour, and fry for a few minutes- if you cook it too long it will be tough as old boots.
My favourite way of doing it, it to melt a little butter with a dash of oil to stop it burning, add some chili and garlic. Cut the liver into strips, dip in seasoned flour and then pop in the pan.
Serve with a leafy salad and a large glass of wine!Right now I'm having amnesia and deja- vu at the same time. I think I've forgotten this before0 -
Ah good use of the wine. I like it.Smart price rocks!0

If you think it may be too strong, soak it in milk for half an hour.I Believe in saving money!!!:T

It's ox liver that needs longer cooking, and it has a stronger flavour. Don't let this put you off buying it next time, though. Soak it in milk first. IMHO, it's worth the little bit of extra effort. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0

Thank you everyone. I will get cooking now then. Can you tell I haven't cooked liver much? lol
I did make sweet and sour kidneys last week though. Yummy!!Smart price rocks!0 -
Fry some onions, slice some sausages, put them to one side. Do the liver, mix all together into some gravy (made with the wine)
Heat all together, with mash and veg.....make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

I fried the liver quickly then had it with some tomato and herb sauce. I gave some to my 7 year old too. She loved it, yay.
McKneff, that sounds yummy. I have more liver in the freezer so will be making your recipe very soon.
