Payday loan companies...

Hey guys,

Is there anyway round these companies as hate paying them back with their crazy interest rates as I'm looking to apply for a reasonably small loan this evening.

Is there any other option or anyone know of independent traders who would love a small fortune?

Would love to hear your thoughts.

Not borrowing money is a good way to avoid them.

What happened to your other post about doing "Favours for Sailors" in exchange for Rent money??
  • Depends how much you are looking to borrow. Some banks offer temporary overdraft increases for around 2 weeks to 1 month (nationwide don't offer this service by the way).
    Current Debt
    Barclays Student Overdraft £3,000 [£3,000 limit - £7 monthly fee, 0% interest]
    Nationwide Overdraft £145 [£150 limit 19.9% interest]
    Barclaycard £2,990 [£4,000 limit - 0% interest until April 14]
    Vanquis £1,331.96 [£3,000 limit - 39.9%APR)
    Capital One £50 [STRIKE]£81.54 [/STRIKE][£200 limit - 27.9%APR)
  • Yea I bank with nationwide! Thanks for post though!

I never have to deal with them as I simply don't use them, so there, it's so easy even Elvis can do it.

  • If you have anythign worth a bit of cash then pawn it not sure what the interest rate would be but I'm guessing it would be a lot mroe reasonable than a payday loan company as they have something secured against the loan and if the worst comes to the worst and you can't pay it back then at least you don't have people chasing you and have a debt spiral out of control.
There's no sense crying over every mistake.
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.
