Help with Fuel Tax

in Cutting tax
Hello
I have been asked to fill in tax returns for the past few years (audit I guess, great) and I need help with company fuel allowance.
Any help you can give will be very appreciated.
I do not have a company car. I do have a company fuel card on to which ALL fuel gets put (private and business).
On my P11D my employer has entered 'Other Item' as £x which is fuel.
I do not wish to have all of that as a taxable benefit, but I cannot find where I enter the amount of business miles that I did to deduct from x?

There should be a box called"expenses in employment ", or similar, on the employment page.
To work out what to enter, calculate your business miles x the appropriate rate depending on the year, eg 7500 miles @ 40p,and subtract that from what your employer paid.
If the answer is negative then you have an "expense", enter the amount. If positive then you have an amount to pay tax on, so that goes in a different box, something like "expenses and benefits".0 -
Thank you. I entered an expense in box 17 of mileage * 40p.0
