Since friday I have had lots of phone calls from companies such as Harrington Brooks and others asking me if I want an iva or if I want to be on their dmp system.
do payplan sell my details as all of these companies said they have received my details through an affiliate?

Do you have a contract with them? Might be worth checking in that to see if it makes any mention of the transfer or sale of information.
After all, there's a hell of a lot of money to be made in selling info. No idea from experience if Payplan do so though.Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

Hard to say, but I suspect it's more likely that one of your creditors has passed your details on.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Lenders can find your details via a manner of methods. Do you have any CCJs? They could've searched the register of judgements, electoral roll, phone book, or as fermi said, another creditor may have sold the details on.Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

My son took out a Payday loan and suddenly Bainst & Ernst were ringing him, along with severeal other Payday companies and various withheld numbers. I actually thought he had contacted Bainst & Ernst so sat him down to point out the merits of debt charities. He looked at me as though I had lost my marbles when I would not believe he had rang them. It was a post on here about a similar situation that finally convinced me:mad:LBM August 2011.
