Cash 4 Clothes - charity or rags?

I hope this is the right place to post this message.

I had a Cash 4 Clothes leaflet through the door the other day saying they had opened up in a unit on one of the industrial estates and will pay 50p per kilogram of clothes/bags/shoes. I've accidentally thrown the leaflet out though.

Just sorting through my bits and was wondering what sort of condition the clothing needs to be in? I know they probably wont want anything stained or in tatters (thankfully none of my clothes have got that bad yet!) but does everything have to be in excellent condition. For example, I have quite a few pairs of jeans that are scuffed along the bottoms that I wouldn't give to the charity shop but would Cash 4 Clothes accept them? I wasn't sure if they're collecting for charity or rags.

I don't really want to show up there with a bag full of stuff they wouldn't want in case they think I'm trying to pull a fast one with a bunch of scruffy clothes!

  • Oh and also, my boyfriend has loads of t-shirts with white deodorant marks in the armpits which would be good for rags but I wouldn't dare give them if they were for charity!

for cash for clothes places, they have to be in good clean saleable condition

for rags, you will need loads, ie a tonne or so to get any decent money..

may be better giving to charity (and getting a new deodorant) for anything too bad

but ive sold tshirts, jeans etc that were worn and a couple of years old and not had a problem.
they do tend to sort through and reject what they dont want from it.

not sure where you are, but this is the company in birmingham i used

it has details of what they do and dont take so may help

Hiya, sorry to bump an old thread but I had a leaflet for cash4clothes through the door today. Just wondering - all my clothes are clean and decent but they're a bit crumpled (not a fan of ironing lol). Will they accept them ok do you think? Also, my sister in law has given me a bag & I'm a bit scared of what's in there lol - do they go through the bags when they pick them up? Just wondering if I should go through the bag to avoid embarrassment!
    Thanks

    no need to iron
and yes they will go through the bag so maybe worth checking it first

the link ive given above has a good guide what they usually take, if the leaflet isnt that clear

check the rates they are paying too as they really do vary quite a lot

Hi all. I live in Essex and have just had ezrecycling round to collect 11 sacks. They weighed them in front of me and paid 50p per kilo. £43.00 in total. Really happy with the service.

Did they sort through the bags at all?

Not at all. I left the tops of the bags open. They then did them up and weighed them.
