CML reports a big rise in first-time buyers!!

The Council of Mortgage Lenders has announced that there was an increase in the number of mortgages agreed for first-time buyers in December.

18,700 home loans were advanced to first-time buyers, up by 14 per cent from December 2010 and up by seven per cent from November 2011.

What fantastic news for the FTB's!!

No doubt some sad, lonely, loser will come and put a damp sponge on this marvellous news!!

    We already have a thread on this. I read a report on this earlier and it was concluded that it was caused by the stamp duty holiday ending. A spike.

    I've just seen that other thread ... ooooops!

    I doubt it's a spike .... it's a full blown revival - that's what it is!!

    No doubt Crash_Bang_MuppetMan will be along soon to bring the whole mood down to his sad, lonely, level .....

    UK credit rating downgrade is going to make mortgages more expensive. These are the uncontrollable external factors that will damage house prices. Risk involved with home ownership just got higher.
