I wasn't sure where to post this so apologies if it should have gone somewhere else.
Over the last 12 mths I've been baffled that I can't seem to get accepted for a credit card. I've never missed payments as always have everything on direct debit, I've been in full time employment for the last 8 yrs with a good salary. The only thing I could think of that was effecting my rating was that I've always lived in rented accommodation and have moved 6 times in the last 9 yrs, I also mistakenly gave an incorrect past address whilst filling out an application last year.
However, today I checked my credit rating, first with Noodle (creditscore) to find I had a moderate score....all details correct including that I was on the electoral role.
I then checked Experian, where I was alarmed to see that it noted I WAS NOT on the electoral role at my current address, I know I am. However, I quickly checked with the Councils electoral services dept and the lady told me I had indeed been on the role since April 2011. She then went on to tell me they keep having this problem with Experian, and Experian keep on saying its a problem from the Councils end, this has been looked in to but it doesn't appear to be from the councils end.
Seeing as Experian is the main source for banks to run credit checks I'm wondering if this has been my problem over the last 12 months, and if anyone else has experienced such a problem? Oddly enough, Experian had still given me a better score than Noodle, so I'm still at a bit of a loss as to why I keep getting refused.
Please check this and make others aware.
Thanks.
