Problem with food storage containers in dishwasher

I have a selection of food storage containers which I use to store portions of things which I have batch cooked. These are a combination of Tesco Value and Asda Smartprice, Tesco imitation Lock&Lock style, and genuine Lock&Lock.
I recently got a dishwasher and have found that the cheapo boxes come out of the DW covered in chalky deposits which I have to take a scouring pad to. This is not a problem with the higher quality boxes. (I use supermarket's own dishwasher salt, rinse aid and liquid detergent, and obv. being in South London am in a hard water area).
What are these deposits, why are they only a problem with the cheap boxes, and is there anything I can do about them? Or do I just have to buy the more expensive boxes in future?

If it's not causing a major problem I'd just handwash those containers. Maybe, when they get too old then replace them with better quality ones. The 365 Day 1p Challenge 2025. Member #420
