Worked as a christmas temp and got underpaid whats my rights?

hey,

I worked as a christmas temp for 8 weeks and I left on the 31st Jan. I have recived both my pay packets and overall I have been underpaid around £100. They have said I have been paid everything that I am owed and I know for a fact I haven't, and I can prove I am owed more. How do I go about getting that £100 back because its mine and I've earned it.

any help will be great thanks.

More details are needed for anyone to be able to help you.

I have it written down they have it written down and filed away. Its there for all to see. Thats all the proof I have.
  • what if theirs gets 'lost'?

Seriously, write a letter detailing what you feel they owe to HR, send it recorded delivery and ask them to reply within 7 working days.

If no reply send a letter before action

If still no reply then goto a tribunal to claim for it.,
The Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!

If I give you advice it is only a view and always always take professional advice before acting!!!

So here's a novel approach - write a letter to them saying something like.

"According to my records (copies attached) I worked a total of X hours during the period of employment with you.

I have only received payment of Y hours as shown by the payslips (copies attached) I have received.

Please reply to me within 7 calendar days to confirm when I will receive payment for the remaining Z (X-Y) hours."

And keep a copy of the letter, the originals of your evidence and send the letter registered/recorded post so you can prove you sent it.

If you don't get a response, follow up with another letter stating not had a response, respond within 7 days or I will submit a claim for breach of contract.

    ETA:
As usual, googlewhacker types faster than me - for that read uses less words than me to say the same thing.
