                    Hi guys, please help!
I was self employed up until april 09, and due to various reasons i could never earn enough to put away for my tax bill. To cut a long story short i now owe HMRC £3700 in self assesment tax from when i was self employed and i just cant pay. I had a period in 2010 when i was paying £100 a month but now i just cant afford to pay. I have tried to set a payment plan up with them a few weeks ago of £50 a month (not that i can really afford that at the mo) but they couldnt go through with it because i owe them another tax return from the 09-10 period even though i wasnt self employed. Im now getting letters from a company who HMRC have passed the debt on to and now i really dont know what to do. I have other debts too which are in a Debt management plan and i just cant afford to pay much more at the moment.
HELP ME!

Sorry to hear that you're in this situation, but it's not really a tax issue as such, it's a debt problem, and as such you might be better posting on the Debt Free Wannabe board.
Edited to add, if they want a return from 09/10 why haven't you done it?0

HMRC can and will make you bankrupt if you can't pay what you owe. That may or may not be a good thing for you.Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.
Faith is the denial of observation, so that belief can be preserved.
