Career Progression - Finance

Hi there Experts,

Just a quick question really, this may not seem genuine but I assure you it is..

I am 24 years of age and still live at home with my parents.. I have a full time permanent job at the moment.

However I would like to change careers but this needs lots of financial input to get me going. I was just wondering if anyone knew if this was possible in some way...

Circumstances..

I would need to borrow in the region of £100,000

1. Live at home with parents, they own our house but would not be able to help out in any way financially..

2. I would need to leave my current job for training which would be full time approximately 12 months, however would be returning to same company in a different role, under same terms IE permanent full time, so would be more like a 12 month break in employment..

3. Credit rating good..

4. Once training complete and receiving an income (approx 13 months from loan commencement) would be able to repay loan fully over five years.

I don't have a house to secure the loan against otherwise I would.

I was just wondering if anyone knew if this was possible, and if so what are the best ways of approaching the situation. If you could help but need more information please PM me.

I hope someone can help,

Regards,

Andy

  • Your parents' house (which only they own) has no bearing here unfortunately.

You have not listed important info like income and current debts, assets etc.

But 100k is soooooo unlikely to be given out. Thats basically a small mortgage!

another wannabe pilot? one a month atm.

the only sensible answer is "get a trainee pilot job with an airline"

or you know, put some effort into the day job and get prrmoted until you can afford the lessons.

  • 100k for a career loan - Stop Stop Stop - Are u training to be spaceship pilot. Working on assumptions is very bad step. Your first point of call is to speak to those who are where you want to be and ask how they got there and what tips will they offer.

Well Income is going to be zero as he is giving up work for a "career change".

Debts are not particularly relevant as he is just coming out of a DRO, which in itself means he isn't getting credit from anyone for some time to come.
