Any ideas of grants or loans while at college?

My husband is looking to go back to college in August. Course is an NC year one course (we are in Scotland if that makes a difference)
I work full time, DH is currently on jobseekers allowance.
Just wondering if anyone knows what kind of financial help he will be entitled to? Even if he won't get a student loan, is the course fee's covered?
He doesn't have his interview til next week, so I've told him to speak to the financial advisor at the college, but I'm just trying to get ahead

Is there a 'student finance Scotland' website? Or is there information on finance on the college's website? Otherwise asking the college is probably the best idea, especially as I am not clear what 'level' the first year of a NC course would be equivalent to - is it post A level / Highers, or not?Signature removed for peace of mind0

Can't he get on an HNC course rather than NC?Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0 -
He applied for the NC, HNC and HND course, hoping for the HNC or HND. Only had a letter back from the NC course so far, but he is going to plead his case for the higher course at his interview, fingers crossed!
Thanks for the link to saas, never even thought about them

Ultimately, what does he want to do? I'd put my focus on an HNC. Consider the implications of future course funding though before committing.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0

He want's to do the HNC ohreally, think that's about where his knowledge and experience would put him.
I do worry about the costs involved, not just the course fees and travel etc for him, but they need to supply materials as well for working on. And of course he will be practicing at home... even more money.
But who am I to stop him doing what he wants to do? We will just need to find the money from somewhere
