Can anyone confirm if a pcp car can be handed back when half of the amount is repaid ? I've had a look over all the paper work and can't find this info. However was told this when I took out agreement.

couple accross the raod from me did this last,id never heard of it,bur it seems it can be done
  • there will be an amount on your original agreement, once you've paid that back, you can hand the car back. its about three quarters of the total amount owed and it will have its own wee paragraph.

It is quite difficult to find, it was hidden away in among t&cs on mine which is a Santander one. and santander staff don't have access to it as I phoned and asked and they didn't
anyway, decided to sell my car privately, the handing back is not a fair deal, so check all the figures first.............

  • Thanks found the paragraph after alot of hunting through it. Looks like with mines its half the original total has been met. Going to phone them tomorrow to find out if there is an option to transfer/exchange it at this point

I've handed 2 cars back this way. Check with the finance company how much you have to repay. I just handed mine back and bought another car on pcp where the new deposit was £99 and the repayments were less than i was paying before. Beware of any charges which might be due when you hand it back though, things like scratches, going over the annual mileage etc. There should be a list of what you may be charged for with your original contract stuff. I've been lucky both times, no charges due.
