Birkenstock Gizeh Sandals for under £25 delivered.

I have finally decided to stop buying disposable cheap versions of these and get the real thing. Thinking it would be cheaper to buy now than wait for summer I looked on ebay then Amazon and on Amazon I found these
Birkenstock Gizeh Birko-flor sandals
several colours and different prices for each colour (some cheaper, some a lot dearer) but with the 20% off code (on the page on Amazon, ends tomorrow night) I got mine in a light brown (most versatile I decided) for just under £25, probably the best price you can get on these.

That's a bargain! these are the most comfortable flip-flop type shoes I ever had. I got them in a couple different styles since!

Be aware though, they do come up big, so you may need to come down a size. I'm normally a 7.5/8, and I get a size 40 in Birkenstocks (which is normally a 7 UK).

I ordered the 41 as I am a large 8/9, I have tried on my SIL's and they were a little too short. I ordered the wide though, hope they are ok as they will probably be out of stock if I want to exchange!

My first pair were Gizeh's, and I got a 41. As I said, I'm a small 8, and they are too big for me, especially after a while as they mould to your feet - you can definitely tell there is at least an inch spare at the back, and some at the front too! So I'm sure you will be just fine with a 41. :)

Oh, and I have wide feet too, so got the "M" width, and they are fine ("N" is narrow width in Birkenstocks, M is Regular/wide). As a guide for those who don't know, on the footbed, there is a tiny symbol of a foot. If the symbol is filled in, it's a narrow; if it is only outlined, it's regular/wide.

You have to be careful about buying Birkenstocks from TKMaxx. Like the ones they used to sell in TJHughes, the sides of the strap don't go all the way round to the bottom like the original Birkenstocks do. None of the sandals on the official Birkenstock website are attached to the top, they all go round to the bottom. The ones on Amazon are like the official ones. I don't know if it's a cheaper sort they make for budget shops like TKMaxx. Someone on here once commented that the budget style were more likely to rub, although I'm sure there'll be a lot of people saying they are ok. Hope that makes sense!
  • I bought 2 sizes of the madrid birkenstocks from javari (same as amazon but next day delivery, so should get them tues) as its free returns i will be sending 1 pair back. Never had birkenstocks before so wasnt sure of the size.

  • I have about 40 pairs and take a size 40m. I am a size 7 with wide feet.

I noticed the difference in the TKMaxx ones too. Was looking just yesterday at the Amazon ones, but can't really justify yet ANOTHER pair of Birkenstocks, lol. Have about 8 different ones as it is. Plus the Gizehs are the only toe post sandals my delicate little tootsies can wear.

Don't forget the 20% off code at amazon, they also have Birkenstocks at javari also with 20% code until 12th feb.
