I have just checked and a couple over 18 claiming JSA get £105.95 a week which is effectively £53 a week "each".

That's what i am confussed about, i also checked earlier and that's what i came up with also... but i've been told by 2 offical people who come to your home to 'check' and 'talk' to you about it and a person from the Job Centre that it's only £53 a week if you're 18-25..

I don't know why they put this online, and then other officials tell me somthing else!

you will definitely be paid the couple rate, however if you are not a couple then you shouldnt be claiming as a couple

it is now feasible that people live with friends on a long term basis, that is why you are visited to confirm that you are living as friends and not as a couple

I understand this, but they've told me that if we move together and live as 'friends' it will still be classed as a couple

  • There is a benefit check on the in the links at the bottom of the home page and this says that as a couple youy get £105 a week. I check with CAB as others have said and have you though about taking your pets to the PDSA vets as these are normally free to people on benefits.

Your travel cost would you consider looking in freecycle for bikes to enable you tp cut the cost of this.

Food wise I'd make a list of the meals your having on a regular basis and then see if these can be stretched out or changed for cheaper alternatives.

Have you though of finding out if there is a foodbank http://www.trusselltrust.org/foodbank-projects in your area
