Made A Big mistake

I am an apprentice and I only get paid so much... I took out a loan from Wonga for 300pounds and I took out a Loan from quick quid for 150pounds. Now my parents have found out and they are threatening to kick me out. :(

In all honesty, I have no sympathy. PDL companies have their place on the market, but only as a short-term solution.

You are at least one of the ones that want to pay back (I assume), and you probably have enough to pay it back, but nothing more.

Don’t borrow what you can’t afford.

    Hi Ninja,

Sorry to hear about this, but will they really kick you out over a few hundred quid? What you've done sounds irresponsible, but hardly life changing...they're obviously angry with you, and it sounds like a heart-to-heart may be in order.

...Do you need help/advice on making repayments, or do you have that covered? Sort out the debts and learn a lesson from it :)

  • I doubt they will actually kick you out but are probably angry and disappointed that their child could be quite so stupid. You do NOT borrow what you can't afford to repay to these companies on time. Have you actually realised how much they will add on when you can't pay them back on time??!!

Work out how you will pay the loans back, apologise profusely to your parents and show them you've learned your lesson. Then don't touch them again!!!

I’m a lot older (and I hope a lot wiser) than the OP.

  • I think your parents are really annoyed because they think your loans will have an effect on themselves and their credit rating - which it won't.

You need to sit down with them, maybe show them this thread, and talk to them. I doubt they will throw you out (if they do, then they're not very good parents) but you do need to talk to them.

So are the loans still outstanding?

Are you in default or merely rolling them over month in, month out?

Do you have plans to repay the debts?

If not, where is all your money going?

You've made a post, but I don't really know what the problem is, other than a tendancy to borrow from stupidly expensive places.
