Employer has overpaid me!!

This month my employer has over paid the 8 days Annual leave I took in January by £701.34. As a result I have been over deducted £356.12 Tax/NI and Student Loan. Can anyone please advise how I am best going to resolve this matter so we are going to be short of money next month. I cannot think how we are to re-address the deduction error - this could have a long term effect on the family tax credits!! All and any advice welcome. Thanks.:male:

As you know that they have overpaid you by a set amount - don't spend it, then you effectively wont be short next month when they start to take it back via your next salary or two. Let your company know, tax and Ni will rectify themselves by adjustment. Not sure about student loan but if you are paid less next month you will probably pay less next month so over the long term this will right itself also. I imagine the same with tax credits as end end of tax year you would have earned and paid tax on the same amount of money.
Dont ignore it as they will eventually notice and want it back as is their right.Dont wait for your boat to come in 'Swim out and meet the bloody thing'

Thank you for your responses _ I wil be contacting my employer Monday morning. Historically my employer has not been easy to deal with and problems are frequent and unresolved. I am hopeful that I can pay back the overpayment now so next month I get paid normally. the deductions are going to be another issue!!0
