Hi folks I am after a new PC, I usually build my own but to be honest I don't have the time and more often than not now off the shelf PC's are a cheaper option.
I'm looking for something similar(ish) to the following spec:
Processor: AMD Dual Core Min 5000+
Ram: 1-2gb
Hard Drive: at least 160gb
Optical Drive: Dvd re-writer
Graphics: Dont like onboard but am not a heavy gamer - so a standard card will do
Monitor: Either without or with at least a 21" Lcd
Operating System: Windows Vista
Thanks in advance for any help

Funny mix of spec. - if you're not worried about high-end dedicated graphics why the need for the high-end processor? What sort of price range are you looking at? Aldi have just had a load of Medion Vista Intel dual-core systems in at £399 which are brilliant for the money (hence they all went in about 10 minutes at our local store! (& I got one ;-) ). For a non-mainstream CPU you're best to go to a local independent supplier for those sort of specs as I don't think you'll find anything off the shelf like that.0

The Intel Dual Core are just about unbeatable at the mo for speed/price. I would not look at AMD because of this. But I am sure it will change sooner or later.0

£299, shared graphics though http://www.comet.co.uk/cometbrowse/product.do?sku=3552320 -
Budget without monitor: £450ish
I've always had a preference for AMD
Just think you get more processor for your money - or at least you used to do.
Although not a gamer I would still need a pc that could cope with graphics apps (for web design) and encoding video.
Thanks for the currys link - cant find out the exact details of the processor on there though. But will have a look at the acer retailers.0
