grievance and tribunal, do I have a case>

I've been passed over for promotion, for a junior colleague, who also happens to be a good personal friend of my immediate line manager. A position I've been in line for for 2 years, I have a proven track record that out classes anything of my colleague. I've submitted a grievance claiming blatant favouritism, providing I have the evidence is this worthwhile taking to a tribunal?

Favouritism is perfectly legal, unless you were passed over due to race, gender, etc you have no case at all.

So many more constructive things you could have done; this isn't going to go anywhere, you are now marked out as a troublemaker. They'll come back and say it's something like higher potential or better comms skills. And your line manager will want rid soonest.

If it's that cliquey there, ask yourself: are these the sort of people I want to work for/with..
