Might be a family film but for younger kids its very, very sad i would watch it first if your children are easily upset. The first 3/4 was lovely just wasn't expecting what happened next.
  • I agree with Maysie - very sad! Had me in tears!

Sunday Times is £2.20 in Scotland - not sure of prices elsewhere

  • Absolutely agree with last 2 posts. Unnecessarily sad ending & I was very glad I hadn't seen it with a young child.

It's a lovely film but very sad.

Then again, I remember watching My Girl and being totally unaffected by it. I watched it again recently and wept buckets :o

My (sensitive flower, liable to get upset at anything) DD watched it and was fine, while my DS (tough, never seen crying in public even with broken bones) and I sobbed like babies! I heartily 'unrecommend' this film for children - and for soft adults too!

Ha! I saw this at the cinema with my kids and had been warned in advance that it was quite "intense" but consider myself to be hard as nails.

Well, I blubbered like a baby, big snotty sobs that MORTIFIED my children who sat there dry-eyed!! Caught myself thinking about the film randomly for ages afterwards as well. I think it's a parent thing - it plays on our very worst fears I suppose :(

    I wouldn't watch it again!

Just thinking about the film sets me off :o, however I think its a very good film to watch, maybe for slightly older children.
