what to ware to a interview

I have a interview next week and it a big deal because its almost my dream job and its in my dream location but I don't no what to ware as this is my fist office based job

as part of the pack that I received there was this
WHAT DO I WEAR?
It is natural to want to dress smartly but we are not assessing what you're wearing so please wear clothes in which you will feel comfortable

I know it sounds silly buy I cant work out If smart jeans and a shirt would be appropriate.

thanks

Well, it's good of them to make it clear that they're not assessing your clothes.

However, I would still not wear jeans to an interview - not unless I was told to. First impressions count for a lot, and I would still aim for 'I am serious about this' rather than 'I'm taking your advice and going for casual'. You don't have to wear a suit, but I would wear trousers and a shirt.

If you want to wear smart jeans (and they really should be smart) then don't wear trainers, go for sensible, clean shoes.

Do you know what the office culture is like, there?

Doesn't matter what the interview invitation says. Always aim for smart. You immediately create a good impression.

Then I'd definitely not wear jeans.

    Edited for personal details.

ok thank you for your help guys

I was trying to work out if the "what to wear" part was a trick to see what people would wear

also I haven't signed anything yet, I suppose that will come if I ever enter the building.

ALWAYS dress up, not down. For the post above the one you are interviewing for is a good rule of thumb....

    Seriously though - spelling?
(I tried to give you the benefit of the doubt for a typo in the title - but "ware" - really?)
