Just got an excellent kitchen knife set at Woolies, five knives inc. carving, chopping, paring etc in a black wooden block with a chrome stand. Marked down from £18 to £9 but it scanned at £6, seem very good quality and are quite heavy.

To be honest i believe you get what you pay for, 6 quid is obviously a good price, but if you use them often, chances are you will have to replace them within a year or so, whereas if you buy a good set they will last you a lifetime, my grandma had a set of Henckels bought for her wedding present and they are still going strong, 57 years later!!!
Just my 2 cents
Nevertheless, for people who just want a set of knives that's a bargain!!He who laughs last, thinks slowest0 -
My current knife set cost around £10 and has been in daily use for the last 7 years, with no sign of needing replaced. You can find good cheap knives.0
