Cheap trestle table cloth ideas needed

Hello fellow weddingers, I wondered if anyone had any "out of the box" ideas on nice linen for trestle tables (6 feet by 2.5 feet)?
We have been quoted £180 for 13 and that's before the £60 delivery charge :eek:

Now, our wedding budget is £3k for everything so I'm looking at alternatives. I've even found a single bed sheet in Ikea for £7 that I'm going to assess tomorrow. At least if we buy them then there is less hassle with delivery etc.

Surely a hire cost of almost £20 a table cover is absolutely mental?

I would look at the cheap Ikea curtains.

Just looked at £9.99 for two curtains.

£2.50 per table just add a little hem on it and its done (loads more colours if you scroll down) ]]can also vouch for this website as got the fabric for SIL prom dress from there and they were wonderful

That's possibly a brilliant idea! If we attach curtain rings to the sides we could use those to hold flowers :rotfl:

Have you thougtht of using banquet paper? You can get some lovely rolls. I didnt know what colour you were looking at so just found white, but there is plenty of coloured stuff as well xx

White is what we're after. We're hoping to steer clear of paper as we want cotton.
We are cutting corners on lots of things but I do want the tables to look perfect. Thank you though gor the help.

Don't give up on banquet rolls, Blue Jigsaw do some great linen look paper for a really good price - they will send you samples if you like, and it doesn't feel like paper at all. However, we bought a bolt of cloth from a fabric warehouse in Pontypridd in the end. We are putting two trestles together to make 6ft x 5ft tables and we bought a 25m roll of 240cm wide sheeting material for less than £60. It is really good and will do all our tables and the buffet as well.

Ikea also do really cheap fabric - but not sure if they do a plain white.

Hire the linen? Lots of companies that do hotel / restaurant laundry also hire linen out for functions.

We looked into hiring but it was cheaper to buy!
