We have applied to be re banded, we are D in a street of mainly Cs.
Does the fact that we are next door to a cafe, in a residential street, have any bearing on this. We cannot avoid the smell of the food being cooked and the noise of the customers when we are in our garden.

if it devalues the property it should lower the banding; whether this is enough to drop a band depends on the exact value.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Was the cafe there when the original valuation was done? If it was it's unlikely to make a difference now. If yes, perhaps it might. Would you ask less for your house if you put in on the market solely based on the cafe being next door?0

The cafe was not there when we moved into the house in the 1980s.0
