Going to go after the company I can tell you.

Before anybody says why did i not bank it at the time, It got mislaid in other paperwork, I also was going through a bad patch at the time, which I will not discuss here.

Will Let you know if I get the money. Mine is with Sun Alliance.

Good luck, HHH went under and it depends on whether the new company inherited the liabilities of the old company... it's unusual for them to do so but hey you lose nothing by trying :D

Who, as I'm sure you know, merged with Royal Insurance about ten years ago, and are now called Royal Sun Alliance...

It's a market with lots of takeovers and mergers, especially in the last 10 - 15 years, so it can be difficult to tell who now 'belongs' with who!

The longer you leave it hard it'll be to get the cheque.

cheques are legally useable for up to 6 yrs if i remember right - they bank just have to contact whoever wrote it first (i think) to let them know as after 6 months they are likely to have forgotten about it and it will be an unexpected payment coming out :)

ive just come accross one from january this yr so will be taking it in on monday lol
