well I'm in the queue, I got here at 8am and there are about 100ish people ahead of me maybe a few more. Security are doing a head count as people join the queue so everyone in the queue should get a ticket another 60ish have joined the queue after me.

    I left at 7am.

    more info for you
700 tickets so they are only letting 350 queue and have closed the gates to new people
    £19.50 per ticket

I'm tired hungry and my feet are freezing.

I just spoke to my mate who is supposed to be coming with me and he has a ticket for the man u game tonight so is trying to get shut of it

The Ritz? I heard a lot of The Coral fans went that night and came out Monkeys fans! Nice one.

Anyway, there's a post on the Monkeys forums stating security are now turning away people arriving now as the 1,000 people capacity in the queue has now been reached. That true, LJ?
  • I think thay actually stopped people from coming in around 9:30am which seemed strange as there was nowhere near 700 people there. WHat are they going to do with the other 350 tickets if they are only letting 350 people in initially?
    Deliver us from email....
  • :D Funnily enough, the band who was 'supposed' to be playing tonight (Viscount Olivers Four Tops Experience!) is actually a real band, though. Only reason I know is I've just googled them. :o
I wonder if tickets bought for Viscount Oliver are valid for tonight? lol.
We hear that the police tried to stop this gig happening, they are not happy about it and are closing off the Promenade for the night. That will be a right pain for local people.
There's a Smoothie bar just over the road called CHILL. They are doing a special deal for anyone with valid tickets for tonight. Good stuff too.

    2 tickets each = 700.
I am told that there will be 50 available on the door at the bands insistence but don't hold me to that.
Incidentally, the security at the dome are usually a friendly lot and aren't too hot about cameras and videos etc. Just be a bit discreet when taking cameras in as they do check bags. I openly took a video of Towers of London on Monday and nobody said a word.

I heard it was a great gig. Anyone who went up for giving a mini review?
  • Ok here is how it went.

The queuing area was fenced off and closed to any new people once the queue reached 350 people as mentiond at about 9:30 as they were allowing 2 tickets per person, another queue formed outside the fence just incase there were any left, They started selling tickets at about 10:30, I had mine just before 11 by the time I got my tickets that queue was as long as the queue I was in. I got the tickets and returned to Bolton to go back to bed and pick my mate up who managed to offload his united ticket.

We got back up there for 7:20pm and the place was pretty empty we got pretty close to the front and some drinks which wern't badly priced compared to most other gigs I've been to.
Suport was by The Little Flames their myspace page and they were pretty good I thought maybe a little more work with the live performance and they could be another coral/monkeys/bees very similar. oh and the lead singer is pretty hot ;) I will be keeping an eye on this band and they are from Liverpool so hopfully will do a few more local gigs.

The monkeys came on and performed a few new tracks then kicked off with an older one and the crowd went nuts and another hit then a few new tracks and the night went like that. The new stuff is very much in the same style and I think the new album should be good. You just get the impresion the band enjoys performing live they don't care where, give them a stage and they will perform Will they stay that way? Oasis are an awesome band live but the stuff that they are comming up with is no longer mindblowing hit after hit like when they were a young band. The songs are good and I will and have go/gone anywhere to see them.

Back when we saw them at the ritz they were raw and sounded fantastic, it was one of a very few places where the crowd stoped talking and watched the suport. I heard the album and it was over produced and perfected not what I heard in Manchester and it detracted a little from the style of the band I thought but as with everything they have perfected their performance since then and are miles better than they were back then, they sound more liek the album but not too much so you know they are live. Just now everyone knows their music so no longer stand in awe and ask who are they we were bouncing like idiots.

As for the venue it a hard shell type tent thing, not brilliant for acoustics it was a bit bouncy but Ive been in worse places. but the small venue just adds the the whole thing.

I just cant understand why Morecambe, there is nothing there.

I cant wait for the summer at the LCCC.
