Red & white striped ankle socks?

Has anyone seen any red & white striped ankle socks in any of the usual High Street Haunts?

Needed to make a sock monkey for a Man Utd fan by Sunday as a birthday pressie.

I've had a look round and they seem to be available in every hue but the one I really want.

3 pack for £8, one of them is red and white. It says they are from river island so should be somewhere on a high st near you! hth

Knit one? Red and white yarn is easy enough to buy and you can customise the size.

One sock monkey will be made tonight for my son to give his football crazy friend at his birthday party tomorrow.

It started cos I made my son & a few others sock monkeys for Xmas to stretch the budget. These things are VERY popular with 5-10 year od boys - much more so than you'd expect in today's electronic age. They luv em! For once - a cost effective playground craze; ) where the kids whose parents don't have ooodles of cash, can keep up.

Val - my knitting is AWFUL! I can knit but no way could have knitted one in the time allocated, I'm waaaay too slow sadly. It's a good idea for the future though if I get enough warning.
