It is worth noting that the most important thing is that the bankruptcy offers protection from the day it is signed by the judge regardless of how long it takes people to getnotified of it, they dont get any extra privilige by trying something "before they get told", the rest is just the paperwork, the legal protection is already in place.

In fact, you actually get protected from the moment the judge signs it, i do remember a case when that was important because the bankrupt got a parking ticket whilst in the court, was it before or after the strike of a pen, that was the question :)
Hi, im Debtinfo, i am an ex insolvency examiner and over the years have personally dealt with thousands of bankruptcy cases.
Please note that any views i put forth are not those of my former employer The Insolvency Service and do not constitute professional advice, you should always seek professional advice before entering insolvency proceedings.
  • I'd take a out some of the harsher language but write to them all anyway. Its great peace of mind to walk to the postbox and send them off knowing that you have informed them.

Sure they will hear from the OR but if they did call you can refer to your letter on x date as well as verbaly telling them.

Treat it as some closure as you start to move on with your life..

Thank you for all advice and comments will do nothing for now as have my OR phone interview on Monday and cant wait to get that done as am very nervous about it. Once that is done will give it all some more thought.

I do hope to move on with my life as been quite a ordeal all round for a long time as sure many of you will appreciate as you will have been and are there.

    Thank you
