Let it cool first. Otherwise it'll make the stuff in your freezer heat up.

    Hi tigerlily,

They are cooked from fresh in my local Asda. I buy them when they're reduced, let them cool and then divide the meat into portions that will make one days lunches for my hungry lot and freeze. I lift the chicken out of the freezer the night before I need it and it's defrosted and ready to make lunch in the morning.

i used to work in co-op and they used fresh chickens and they were cooked instore on rotisserie. so yes they are fine to freeze. even if the chickens were frozen and defrosted - once cooked its fine to freeze them.
  • hi there
Just picked up two rotisserie chickens for my brood tonight.
However upon arriving home teens are going to friends to eat !
Do you think it would be ok to put them in the fridge and use tomorrow (even though they have do not reheat all over the wrapper !).
    TIA

I bought a rotisserie chicken from asda last Saturday night and made a chicken and leek pie with most of it.

I reheated the leftover pie on the Monday for lunch.

I then ate the remaing (small) amount that was left of the meat in a sandwich on Tuesday, but I ate it cold.

I was fine. I would say if you reheat it, make sure it is piping hot right through, or to be on the safe side just eat it cold, and make sure it smells ok still.

    Hi springchicken,

Yes it will be fine to reheat provided it was cooked in the shop today and not brought in cooked and reheated to sell. Just make sure that when you reheat it that it's piping hot before serving.

There's an earlier thread with more opinions that may help so I'll add your thread to it to keep the replies together.

I always look for these with reduced stickers as I use them as sandwich chicken.

I put them straight into the fridge when cooled, they slice well and imo make DH,DS & DD very nice chicken/salad/mayo sarnies :)

I only keep them in the fridge for 24 hours (my dogs like them, too:o) , but I'd say 48 hours should be safe.
