This is a recipe my Grandma used to make then my Mum so it has passed through the generations and is so simple too make, and can be adapted to whichever measure you use i.e. cup, mug, jug or any container depending how many cakes you want too make in one go, believe me it hardly has time to go cold before it's eaten!!
BRAN CAKE
1 cup soft brown sugar
1 cup mixed fruit
1 cup milk
1 cup bran
soak the above items for half to 1 hour
add 1 cup of s.r. flour, mix and put into 1 lb loaf tin (greased) and bake for
1 1/4 - 1 1/2, regulo 3 or 375
Hope you enjoy it as much as me!!!! :j

That sounds really like the one my Mum sometimes made but she used All Bran instead of the Bran and it was always lovely, but I must admit we always had it buttered!Jane
