find old staffordshire account?

Hi folks,
I have found an old staffordshire building society book, that has a balance of £1500 in it. There is nothing to suggest I closed this account, so I think the money is still in it. I am a bit of a scatterbrain so it is highly possible I just forgot this savings account.
I know Portman bought them, and Nationwide bought Portman, but i'm not sure how to go about tracking this account down.
Does anyone know?
