HMRC continue to annoy...

I am owed about £300 from an income tax overpayment from tax year 2010/11 - after an error by DWP/HMRC in obtaining the wrong information concerning 6 months of ESA payments (which was sent twice) - HMRC have finally informed me that they made an ERROR !!
I have spent the last 6 months - sending them proof of income etc - with very little response from HMRC - Then this morning, a letter arrived informing me that rather than (my repeatedly requested) rebate - they would increase my tax code next year....
Do I have to accept this - or can I insist on a rebate ?

  • Sorry no answer for you but it seems hmrc make a lot of mistakes (or is it because they havent all the details and charge max they can) either way what about those people who dont bother chasing it up. Sneaky !!!!!!!s
