I can seem to find anything on here so apologies if this has already been said.
Those that are on a tight budget can cut back on the cake expense,my daughter went to a wedding fair where for a basic white with purple ribbon round bottom she was quoted £380!!!!
So our mission was to check out everywhere & we have found that
Marks & Spenser do a 3 tier cake for £74 :T if you wanted a 4 tier its something like £120,blooming bargain!!
So all you would do is add your own ribbon around cake=£5
.
So there you can save over £200 by doing a DIY M&S cake
And obviously we had to buy a sample to check quality
it was delicious.
Other idea is to buy the small or medium size cake as your top tier & then buy M&S mini wedding cupcakes,£18 for 36 as your bottom tiers.

That's what I'm doing. Even cheaper, would be Asda or Tesco (might not be as tasty though)
I'll be buying bits and pieces to decorate it in my chosen colour.0 -
Or make it yourself...

We had M&S cakes - white iced fruit and sponge on the stand plus a chocolate one to be cut up and put out with them as that's my favourite!
I asked the florist to make small cake toppers to match my bouquet (cream roses and blue delphiniums) which looked lovely.

My mum is making our top cake, and we're getting basic Asda cupcakes, that I'm going to ice and decorate myself
cheap and fun!

M&S = £74 x3 tier
Tesco = £ 33 x3 tier
Theres no way you could make it yourself for £33 & they both have a small iced design on them so not to plain.
Im working on making our own cupcakes its ALOT easier than I thought. The cake is easy but was worried about the butter icing but it is progressing along nicely & lots of yummy taste testing:)In life try to be nice to others, you never know who you are going to meet on your way down...0 -
