I saw this mentioned in an online article on weight today and I thought they were a joke at first, however here's the website.

TBH I don't know if they're really the kind of thing I would eat and I'm trotting along nicely on my Boots Calorie Counting at the moment (polishes halo!!:A), but I wonder if anyone has tried them and whether it would be an occasional option for those of you on here low carbing.
...........or do they taste dire!!
I read that Nigella Lawson had been eating something like this to aid her weight loss. I'd never heard of them before.

I have tried them. Yes, they are very filling but absolutely tasteless so you have to add lots of sauce, curry etc. They have a strange jelly like texture ( konjac glucomannan is a natural soluble fibre produced by the Konjac plant) they are also known as shirataki noodles.
The Eat Water Noodles are £2.55 per pack and I had to purchase a minimum of four from their website. Postage ( they are sent from a company in Dublin) was £3.99 so for a total of £14.19 I received 4 packs. One pack feeds 1-2 people. A bit expensive if you search on line for shirataki noodles there is a lot of info. I found one site selling them for £1.58 per 200g pack so cheaper than above. Think the company was Zero Foods. I am sure they could be bought at a good Asian food store for a lot less.
As I said, I ate a bowl today around noon and I am still full 6 hours later. Anyway, there is a lot of info on line....hope this has helped!! I am not sure about the texture myself but I could get used to it.0 -
Thanks for that info welshwend, will have to have a nose in my local Asian supermarket.Booo!!!0

They sound like the low calorie pot noodles they had about 15-20ish years ago, they stopped making them not too long after they came out as the texture put people off, have not seen or tried these, if they are keeping you full for so many hours after eating them it would be by water (I'm assuming thats what they absorb...) so they must had a slow digestion rate to stay in your stomach for hours afterwards which would make me wonder about water retention. Would be interested to read the science behind them.0

Thanks Welshwend!
Some info from zerofoods here. They're probably not the sort of thing I'd eat all the time, but interesting as an option, especially on those insatiably hungry days!!
A bit loathe to pay over the odds for them, esp P&P charges, but will have a look in the Asian supermarket next week.0 -
Hi, I think the Eat Water Range is fantastic. It consists of penne, spaghetti, fettuccine, noodles and rice. They are filling and I no longer feel the need to snack anymore. The trick to cooking them is to leave the noodles to soak in the sauce after cooking about half hour should do it and they absorb the flavours of the sauce. They are versatile and I have even used the noodles to make yummy smoothies u can't even feel the texture of noodles, it's just like drinking a normal fruit smoothie.
I hope that was helpful0 -

NO SPAM am honestly someone who has tried the Eat Water range and am seeing the results.0

I'm so excited about these it'll sound like SPAM.
No taste. Weird texture. However...FILLING!!!
I've only tried the 'Eat Water' Fettucini and Noodles; H&B do their own version of the noodles which are about £1 a pack cheaper. I haven't eaten the H&B ones yet; the 'Eat Water' ones taste exactly the same - a tiny bit of difference in the texture.
I love them. Probably because of the texture. Instead of eating Pork with Pork and Broccoli, I now have a different texture which makes a huge difference to me.
And...I am not hungry!
It's a miracle - to me.
It's worth a try.
Good Luck!:j0 -
