Emilie03, yes you can request a copy of everything your employer has on file about you under the data protection act. They can charge a fee for this if they're feeling bloody minded.

The benefit system is there to protect you to ensure you have money to live on. If you have money through a compromise agreement, I believe you will be expected to live on that money as you are making yourself unemployed voluntarily - it's not a free windfall so to speak - you'll need it to meet your living expenses.

I would not advise you to change the terms of termination from 'mutual agreement' to 'ill health'. Stating that you left due to ill health may make it more difficult for you to find another job.

Thanks again, for all the advice, i really carnt thank you all enougth.
my understanding is that if i sign the compromise agreement i make myself unemployed voluntarily, there has been loads of back stabbin and games being played by my ex company, and as i left the rather pantomine meeting with the chairman, he said you should be lucky i could of made you redundant and paid you virtual nothing, i believe the company are running scared and hopefully will pursue for more, if my solictor goes for more, can they backtrax on the orginal offer.?

    at solictor Monday Morning...

    thanks again......

yes many thanks, just wants a few words changed mainly to reasons for leaving to "Redundancy".

    otherwise all fine,

just need assistance with tax questions above.
understanding then i will not get any jsa assistance for 6 months, is the same then for hb/ct

    thanks
  • If your employer changes the reason for leaving to redundancy, you should be fine to get contributions based JSA after the first month. SOrry, I don't know about tax credits though.
Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).
