you can check your credit record with the three agencies for a statutory fee of £2 although you might be able to get a free offer

if you find the catalogue companies irresponsible and misleading i would suggest you dont use them anymore.

if you have been charged late fees etc then yes you can claim them back in the same way as credit card/bank fees.

Yes, catalogue credit is listed along with credit, cards, loans, mortgages etc. and your history with each.

When I looked at my credit file with Experian the other night, the only 'black mark' against me is a late payment with Studio, so it seems that you do need to be very careful with these catalogue companies and how they perceive you conduct you account with them.
