As a Telewest-then-NTL-now-Virgin customer on a monthly combination of:
Line rental (£11)
Talk Unlimited - unlimited calls to UK geographic landlines (£14)
Broadband (£18)
I rang up today, asking how much it would cost to add digital TV to this £43 package.
Answer - total new package - £44! Free installation of the digital cable.
Needless to say, I shall be taking them up on this unless anyone here can persuade me otherwise. I had been looking at a new aerial upgrade costing at least £200 to go digital in my area.
The number to ring is 0800 952 8073. Sorry if this is a repeat of anything earlier.

If you look on the Shop but don't drop forum there are several threads about this at the moment which would be helpful to you.
We've just had the new V+ box installed for free and are getting 2 meg broadband, talk weekends, XL TV package and keeping our existing box free for 12 months for £31 a month!! (that includes the £10 a month charge for the V+ box)0 -
How did you manage that? The Virgin website implies cost of £30 for 3 principal services plus £10 or £15?0

Great!!!!
Except they don't have any coverage where I live.
I'm stuck with Sky.......0 -
At least with Sky you will continue to receive all the Sky channels, the same cannot be said for Virgin.

Just rang customer relations at Virgin Media - was formerly a NTL customer. Was paying £55 per month - after saying was thinking of going to BT, very helpful man went through my account. He came up with 2MB broadband, Talk weekends, Base TV and TV Drive V+ box for £39.00 a month FOR LIFE!
Am very pleased and the man was so helpful - he gave me his name and extension number if I had any queries.0 -
Weather permitting of course, oh and dont foget to mention the £69 call out charge when your SKY box breaks down.penrhyn wrote:At least with Sky you will continue to receive all the Sky channels, the same cannot be said for Virgin.

I think it depends on who you talk to. It took about 4 tries before I spoke to someone who knew what he was doing and had the authority to offer me a really good deal.
I pressed the option for 'thinking about leaving ntl' which is the retentions section (they can offer you the best deals) and said my husband wanted a sky+ box and I'd heard that they were doing something similar and then what was the best deal they could do me.
Yes I was also told that this was a deal for life (apart from being charged £5 for the additional box after 12 months) Was also told that we would probably get free upgrade to 4meg BB in March (as will everyone else on 2meg) as top 10meg is going to get higher (can't remember what speed he said it will be).0
