Exchange of Contracts?

Can a lender request, refs, checks after Exchange of Contracts?

As I could, loss my deposit, due to time scale!

they can check at any time, even after completion although this is unlikely. If you are due to exchange then I presume they have produced the mortgage offer? Unless your lender looks on here and recognises your name I think you'll be OK.

Lenders normally do checks before they issue mortgage offers not after. Why do you think they may go sniffing around now?

Lenders can request checks or even remove your offer at any time. This would however be extremely rare but is likely to be when fresh evidence comes to light ie they discover you wrote your own reference or bought in the payslips etc I wouldnt worry about it unless you have been on the fiddle.
