New job question

Hi all!
As this is my first post, before I start, I would just like to say what a great forum.
I have a quick question regarding pay in my new job:
I start my new job on the 13th of Feb. In my contract it states that pay will be one month in arrears and I will be paid on the last working day of each month. I have had a look at other posts and most of them mention 'a' month in arrears and not 'one'.
My details should already be on the payroll system as my contract was in by late January.
Does this mean I will be paid for the 13th - 28th/29th of Feb at the end of Feb, or at the end of March?
Thanks in Advance

You will need to speak to your payroll/ HR department, 13 working days may be enough time for them to get you set up and do the payment run or it might not be in which case you'd get a month and half's money at the end of March0

Thanks for the reply InsideInsurance.
In a normal situation (been at job a couple of months + all details are on Payroll etc), does one month in arrears mean you are paid for the month you have just worked?
Example: Work all of March and get paid at the end of March for the work completed in March? (Overuse of March lol :P)
Thanks0 -
I had this problem in a previous job and it meant that I had worked 6 weeks before I received my pay (but I did receive the full six weeks in one go and it boosted my savings nicely because of my strict budgeting to deal with it).
This was quite a few years ago and I was working for a big organisation with a very organised HR/payroll team so there was an option to apply for an advance on my pay. If I had wanted, I could then have received the money for the first two weeks at the same time everyone else got their pay.
The only difference would have been that I would not have received a pay slip until the end of my first full month which would then show the full amount (advance + full months pay).
When you start next week you may find the information in your contract/induction training etc. If not, then you should contact HR and ask about the possibility of an advance.0 -

That is what I would assume that is what they are meaning (that on the last day in May you get paid for the whole of May - just to stop the overuse of March)
If you do overtime or have some form of commission then it is probable that there is a cut off date after which it will then be paid in the following month.
The last time I was an employee I was paid on the 25th of the month for that complete month so 25 days in arrears and 3-6 days in advance (I couldnt claim overtime and didnt get commission)0 -
if you start before the "cut off" date (usually mid month) and your bank details etc are in and processed, then you would usually get paid for the weeks you have paid in the month. I often take people on who have been on benefits and I try to start them mid-month so that they only have to wait 2 weeks for their first pay. it is then up to them to budget until the following months pay. However every organisation is different, so you should ask your payroll administrator.0

It depends when the cut off date was for Feb? I know where I worked it was the 12th for the pay date the 25th0
