Try out a PS2 EyeToy. They are USB and completely PC compatible as long as you don't want 2 plugged in at one! Comet do them for £15 delivered less quidco or rpoints

I've got a Trust 120 SPACECAM which is £9 from https://www.lowestonweb.com.
Free delivery.
I can thoroughly recommend it. It also has a built in mic.
You can also get another 4% off via Quidco0 -
Are there any computer fairs/markets local to you?
DH and a couple of his rellies often go to Bowlers, thats one thats not too far from us, he only paid £6:50 for ours, it has a built in mic, and also has 6 little spotlights around the lens so the picture is really clear to the person at the other end.If everyone cared and nobody cried, if everyone loved and nobody lied, if everyone shared and swallowed their pride then we'd see the day when nobody died.
ROCK IT DON'T STOP IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BE GOOD OR BE GOOD AT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

They had some in Debenhams teenagers toy section. Reduced from £15 to £4.50 but that was in the January sale so possibly too late, although Debenhams sale seems to last until everything's gone.
I bought one and it works well.0
