Comments

  • Answering the question about the TD SIPP, A J Bell also administers the Sippdeal, Sippdealxtra and Sippcentre SIPPs and a number of other SIPPs not listed.

All this typically means is that A J Bell deals with all the pension matters (processing contributions and transfers, and paying out your pension to you etc etc) but someone else acts as the stockbroker.

Sippdeal and Sippcentre are the SIPPs which offer direct access to A J Bell's in-house stockbroker.

Also worth mentioning that the Sippcentre SIPP differs from the others listed in only being accessible through a financial adviser.

Some of those SIPP providers are more fund supermarket pensions than full SIPPs (they offer full sipp functionality like many personal pensions as well but their target market is commission paying funds which is used to give the impression of lower charges - this model is soon to be banned).

You havent stated what sort of assets you want to hold in the SIPP. So, giving opinion on which SIPPs (from that list) would be better for your objectives is not possible.

It is effectively like asking us to comment on which vehicle is best for you without knowing if your intention is to do the school run, deliver your goods to a shop or do to a North sea oil rig.
I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.

~I had originally intended for it to be a discussion point for interested people to talk about from which I might get an idea which one is best for me.

I am looking for something to buy shares (Aim + foreign) as well as funds and bonds, preferably with Scrips available.

Your first stop should be to choose the best Broker for your needs.

Having a good administrator and a poor broker will not help you.

My suggestion: put it somewhere that has the cheapest closure fees, the transfer it to HL to get between £25 and £500 cashback (if it's over £5k). If you don't want to stay with HL, transfer it out again, which will cost £75, and you could still be up on the deal, if it's a sizeable sum you are investing
